Muhammed Anas won the men’s 400 metres gold with a time of 45.89 seconds, beating Arokia Rajiv in the Indian Grand Prix at the Netaji Institute of Sports Complex here on Sunday.
Time wise, it was not the best performance for Anas who had clocked 45.69 in winning the third leg of the Asian Grand Prix recently in Chinese Taipei.
Devender Singh won the men’s javelin with an impressive throw of 84.57 metres, well past the World Championship qualification mark of 83 metres.
In women’s 400, MR Poovamma pipped Debashree Mazumdar for the gold.
