Key highlights from the semifinal action of India Open 2019.

9:04pm: That will be all from today's semifinal action at the India Open, with Kidambi Srikanth being the only to advance to the finals. Earlier, Sindhu and Kashyap lost their respective matches. In men's doubles, the pair of B. Sumeeth Reddy and Manu Attri lost in straight game.

7:40pm: Coming up next is the men's doubles where B. Sumeeth Reddy and Manu Attri are in action.

7:36pm: P.V. Sindhu crashes out after losing her semifinal clash 21-23, 18-21 to He Bingjiao of China. Kashyap, Sindhu put up a fight but not enough to carry them through to the finals. On Sunday, Srikanth will take on Viktor Axelsen in the final.

7:29pm: A great precision from Sindhu at the net and manages to take a 17-16 lead.

7:25pm: With both the players evenly matched for most part of the second game, Sindhu has finally managed to take a three point lead.

7:18pm: He Bingjiao was expected to dominate and attack more but Sindhu is ready for the challenge and manages a slender one point lead.

7:05pm: He Bingjiao makes a stunning comeback from 13-19 to clinch the first game 23-21.

6:53pm: It has been complete domination so far from Sindhu as she leads 19-13 in the first game.

6:46pm: At the break of the first game, Sindhu leads 11-9.

6:40pm: After Kashyap's exit, Sindhu takes the court for her semifinal clash against He Bingjiao. In head-to-head stats, Bingjiao has a 8-5 record over Sindhu.

6:26pm: The campaign for Parupalli Kashyap ends as he goes down fighting in his semifinal clash against Viktor Axelsen 11-21, 17-21.

6:21pm: Kashyap has come up with a strategy of forcing Axelsen to the back court and induce mistakes. Scores now 15-15 in the second game.

6:16pm: At the interval of the second game, Kashyap leads 11-9.

6:08pm: What a rally! Kashyap makes a strong start to the second game by winning the longest rally of 40 shots. Can he stay a comeback?

5:59pm: It takes 15 minutes for Axelsen to win the first game 21-11. Pressure on Kashyap.

5:56pm: Axelsen is running away with the first game  and currently with a lead of 17-9 over Kashyap.

5:50pm: Kashyap takes an early lead with perfectly placed drop shot but it doesn't take much time for Axelsen to dominate the proceedings. At the interval of the first game, Axelsen leads 11-9.

5:48pm: Parupalli Kashyap enjoys a 2-0 head-to-head record over Axelsen, but the Danish is currently fourth in the rankings.

5:43pm: Time for men's singles action with Parupalli Kashyap taking on Denmark's Viktor Axelsen in the semifinal.

 

4:42pm: Next up will be Parupalli Kashyap against Viktor Axelsen, but there is time for that match to start as currently Ratchanok Intanon is pitted against Han Yue in the semis.

4:24pm: Kidambi Srikanth beats Huang Yuxiang of China 16-21, 21-14, 21-19 to enter the final. What a fightback from him after conceding the first game.

 

4:18pm: Srikanth bounces back to the lead to make it 19-18 after pocketing straight four points.

4:11pm: Yuxiang takes a two-point lead to make it 14-12. And Srikanth does well to catch up and make it 14-15.

4:08pm: The match in the third game has again become a see-saw one with no clear domination. But definitely the player who gets the opening looks like winning the clash. Score now 11-11.

3:58pm: Srikanth makes a brilliant comeback to take the second game 21-14 and force the match into the decider.

3:44pm: At the break of the second game, Srikanth is well-placed at 11-6.

3:41pm: As expected, Srikanth fights back and is placed with a 7-4 lead at the start of the second game.

3:32pm: Yuxiang wins five consecutive points and shoots to a 19-14 lead. After a tough battle, Yuxiang takes the first game 21-16.

3:30pm: The points level at 14-14 and it is very difficult who will win the first game. Both shuttlers have so far been really relentless.

3:18pm: The match is underway with Srikanth trailing 3-4 against Yuxiang. This has been neck-and-neck start to the first game.

3:15pm: Kidambi Srikanth starts India's campaign in the semis, with Sindhu and Kashyap to follow next in their respective singles matches. Srikanth is up against Huang Yuxiang while Parupalli Kashyap takes on Viktor Axelsen.

3:09pm Malaysia's Chow and Lee have made a comeback after losing the first game and trailing midway through the second to win the match 18-21, 21-19, 21-19.

Next up is Srikanth's match.

2:26pm Thai pair Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajaongjai won the first game 21-18 against Malaysian pair Chow Mei Kuan and Lee Meng Yean in the women's doubles semfinals.  They also lead the second game 11-9.

Kidambi Srikanth is scheduled to play after this match.

2:00pm In the mixed doubles semifinals, top seeds Wang Yilyu and Huang Dongping bt Indonesian pair Hafiz Faizal and Gloria Widjaja in straight games - 23-12, 21-16.

Five Indians made it to the semifinals of the India Open. Kidambi Srikanth and Parupalli Kashyap in the men's singles semifinals, P.V. Sindhu in the women's singles semifinals and the pair of Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy in the last four of men's doubles.

Matches start at 1pm. After a mixed doubles and a women's doubles match each, Kidambi Srikanth will take on Yuxiang Huang in the the men's singles semifinals.
