India's P.V. Sindhu secured her place in the second round of the Hong Kong Open Super 500 tournament with a straight-games victory over Kim Ga Eun.
Having come into the tourney after a disappointing run of defeats, the 2019 world champion faced little resistance from her opponent and went on to win the match 21-15 21-16 in 36 minutes.
The sixth-ranked Indian will next play Thailand's Busanan Ongbamrungphan.

Sindhu had suffered a first-round exit at the China Open earlier this month, losing in three games to Chinese Taipei's Pai Yu Po, while Taiwan's Tai Tzu Ying had got the better of her in the quarterfinals of the preceding French Open Super 750 tourney in October.
She was eliminated in the first round and second round at the Korea Open and Denmark Open as well after being crowned world champion in Basel.
In the men's singles, H.S. Prannoy beat China's Huang Yu Xiang 21-17 21-17 in 44 minutes to progress to second round in the tournament. Prannoy will play Indonesia's Jonatan Christie in the next round.
