India international basketball player Amritpal Singh impressed Australian scouts at the recently concluded National Basketball League (NBL) Draft Combine, held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.

The combine - an exercise where representatives from Australia’s elite league sides scout for promising talent - took place a few days ago.

Amritpal, the Indian team captain, ended the combine as the leading shot-blocker. A few teams have expressed interest in signing him on, even though he has not been offered a contract yet. The centre is hopeful that he will earn a call-up in the weeks to come.

Fellow India stars Amjyot Singh, Yadwinder Singh and Vishesh Bhriguvanshi were also part of the exercise.
