Hyderabad to host FIBA 3x3 World Tour basketball event

The event assumes significance as it is a qualifying event for the FIBA 3 x 3 world Tour Bloomage Beijing final next month.

Hyderabad will host the FIBA 3 x 3 World Tour Masters at People’s Plaza from September 22 to 23 featuring the best international teams.

The event assumes significance as it is a qualifying event for the FIBA 3 x 3 world Tour Bloomage Beijing final next month.

The best 3 x 3 team in the world currently is Novi Sad with their star player Dusan Bulut winning more trophies than anyone else.

Other teams and players to watch out for will be Piran (World No. 3), Belgrade (World No. 9), Simon Finzgar (World No. 8), Anze Srebovt (World No.9), Gasper Ovnik (World No. 10), Bogdan Dragovic, Dulgunn Enkhbat and many more.

The two Indian teams competing – Delhi 3BL and Bangalore 3BL - will have to put up a strong fight to emerge at the top against these key teams and players.

Rohit Bakshi, League Commissioner, 3BL, informed media that the “3 x 3 basketball has been my passion since a long time and I am proud to see how it’s finally gaining importance in India”.

Alex Sanchez, Managing Director, FIBA 3x3 said, “India is a country where immense passion for sports is deep-rooted and basketball as a sport has great potential to grow and develop here.

“3BL was such a massive success in India and it was such a proud moment for me to see my team win five out of six rounds. I’m excited to see them take the world by storm at the Hyderabad Masters,” said Pooja Bhatt, Actress, Film maker and Co-owner of Team Delhi.

Yoshiya Katoh, Chairman of 3BL, said he is very excited to see how Indian players will compete against the world’s best 3x3 players this time.
