Shakhriyar Mamedyarov benefited from Vladimir Kramnik’s late blunder and joined Fabiano Caruana in the lead at four points after six rounds of FIDE Candidates chess tournament here on Friday.

Wesley So surprised Levon Aronian to emerge as the other winner of the day. The other games ended in draw.

Action will resume on Sunday after a day’s rest.
