Quang Liem to move into the joint-third spot after four rounds of the Isle of Man International chess tournament here on Tuesday.

China’s Wang Hao and Azerbaijan’s Arkadij Naiditsch shared the lead with four points. Eight among the top-nine seeds are tied for the 10th place.

The day also saw some of the top-10 players, including former World champions Viswanathan Anand and Vladimir Kramnik post convincing victories. Anand defeated M. Shyam Sundar while Kramnik drubbed Austria’s Valentin Dragnev for their second wins.

In the fifth round, Anand and Kramnik have opted for a half-point bye. Abhijeet will play white against Vidit while Nihal Sarin meets B. Adhiban.

Notably, among the Indians, Adhiban drew with Wesley So, Vishnu Prasanna held seasoned British player Michael Adams and C. R. G. Krishna scored over Israel’s Tamir Nabaty.
