American Wesley So became the first FIDE World Fischer Random champion by defeating World no. 1 Magnus Carlsen in the final with a convincing scoreline.

American Wesley So became the first FIDE World Fischer Random champion by defeating World no. 1 Magnus Carlsen in the final on Saturday.

In the final, he beat Carlsen with a score of 13 1/2 - 2 1/2.

India's Vidut Gujrathi was defeated in the repechage of the quarterfinal stages against Iran's Alireza Firouzja.
