Deepak Chahar replaces Bumrah in India squad for England T20s

Jasprit Bumrah’s injury has opened the doors for Deepak Chahar. The young pacer from Rajasthan has been named as a replacement for the injured pacer in the India’s T20 squad for the T20 series.

Jasprit Bumrah’s injury has opened the doors for Deepak Chahar. The young pacer from Rajasthan has been named as a replacement for the injured pacer in the India’s T20 squad for the T20 series.

As reported by Sportstar on Saturday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday made it official that Chahar—who is already in England with the India A tour — will join the national team for the shortest format of the game.

The young gun had a good outing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Chennai Super Kings this season, and the hard work has paid off for the young gun.

The national selection committee has also named Krunal Pandya and Axar Patel as replacements for Washington Sundar. While Pandya will feature in the T20 side, Patel will be available for the ODI series against England later this month.

Sundar suffered an injury to his right ankle during Indian team’s training session at the Malahide Cricket Club in Dublin earlier this week.

The selectors have also added Rishabh Pant to India A squad for the four-day matches. Presently a member of the India A’s squad for the ODIs, Pant will continue to be with the side for the longer format as well.
