Sidak, who is originally from Mumbai, was roped in as an outstation player by Puducherry this season.

Puducherry's young spinner, Sidak Singh, did an Anil Kumble, albeit in a Colonel C.K. Nayudu U-23 fixture. The young left-arm spinner scalped a ten-for against Manipur at the CAP Siechem Ground on Saturday.

Sidak, who is originally from Mumbai, was roped in as an outstation player by Puducherry this season and the youngster made his presence felt as he routed Manipur for 71 and grabbed all ten wickets, conceding just 31 runs. His figures read quite incredible: 17.5-7-31-10.

In 1999, Kumble scalped a ten-for in the second Test against Pakistan at the Feroz Shah Kotla to match Jim Laker's feat and now it was Sidak's turn to do something similar at the domestic level.

Earlier, the 19-year-old has featured in seven T20s for Mumbai. Known for his Bishan Singh Bedi-like style, Sidak has been quite popular in the local circuit.

In 2015, Sidak, then an U-15 team player, was picked by Mumbai in its squad for the West Zone T20 Cricket Championship. That made Singh the youngest player to be picked for the Mumbai senior side after Sachin Tendulkar (who was picked at the age of 14 in the 1980s).

His career hit a roadblock after he was reported for a suspect bowling action by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Now that the youngster is back with a bang, he will be hoping to maintain the momentum.
