Second in the race for the orange cap, captain Gautam Gambhir has been consistent for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 10th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Gambhir has scored a total of 387 runs from 10 matches, and has played an integral part in helping his team to eight victories out of the 10 matches played. He scored an impressive 62 against Pune in the last game to help the team to win; he has scored 70+ in three innings, with a best of 76. His partnership with Robin Uthappa has been the most difficult to break for the opponents.
After missing out on his first game against KKR, Ben Stokes will be looking to keep his form intact and seal a berth for Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) in the play-offs. Stokes carried his team to victory in the last match against GL when he scored a sensational century, scoring 103 off just 63 balls. Although Stokes has been unable to get going as a batsman except in the last game, his bowling has helped RPS clinch a few last over victories. He has a total of six wickets at an economy of 7.62 from eight matches. Will Stokes’ all-round performance be able to curb the attacking Gautam Gambhir?
