The men who mattered! The troika of Mesut Ozil, Theo Walcott (Centre) and Olivier Giroud were instrumental in Arsenal's crucial 2-1 victory, at the Emirates, over Manchester City. The result cuts Leicetser's lead to only two points, with City now four points behind second-placed Arsenal.
The homeside broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute. Walcott, from just outside the box, curled home a beauty, which was provided by Arsenal's creator-in-chief Ozil.
Manchester City and England goalkeeper Joe Hart's dive was in vain as the ball reached the back of the net.
Just on the stroke of half time, Olivier Giroud (centre) was teed up by that man Ozil, yet again, and drilled a low shot between Hart's legs to double the lead for the home side. This was the Frenchman's 12th goal in 14 games.
Raheem Sterling (Left), Manchester City's GBP 49 million summer, was brought on at half time but couldn't crack open the solid defensive pairing of Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker.
Aguero looked off the pace on his return from a heel injury and was subbed off in the 63rd minute.
Kevin de Bruyne (right) had a few chances but couldn't breach Petr Cech's goal.
Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure (right) was unable to dictate terms from the middle. However, he pulled one back for the visitors.
Toure reduced the arrears eight minutes from time with a goal of breathtaking nonchalance, ambling onto Bacary Sagna’s pass and placing a left-foot shot into the left-hand corner as easily as if he was picking up a pen.
The game ended 2-1 for Arsenal and with the result, are only two points off the top of the league. Walcott and Mertasacker (right) celebrate after the final whistle.
