S. Pandiyan of Chennai City FC is all set to join Indian Super League Club, Chennaiyin FC for the forthcoming season.
One of the promising young talents, who performed well in the I-League playing all league games, Pandiyan is the third player to move from Chennai City to an ISL club.
It is learnt that Chennaiyin has paid Chennai City in the range of Rs. 15-20 lakh to get Pandiyan.
Chennai City has been in the forefront of promoting local talent and Pandiyan, the 22-year-old midfielder will be keen to add value to Chennaiyin and make his I-League side proud.
In the first three years of ISL, there were only three TN players. Since Chennai City's I-League debut, three more have joined the top flight in one year.
Pandiyan, who played for Viva Chennai in the Chennai Football Association League before being signed up by Chennai City, is expected to make waves in the new club.
It is understood the player had multiple suitors but the club has decided to go with the current ISL champion.
It has to be noted that Pandiyan was spotted by former India player Raman Vijayan who enrolled him in his academy nine years back.
