Here's the updated ISL points table: ISL 2019-20: Points table, goals scored, goal difference

Full time: ATK 1-3 Chennaiyin - Goals from Crivellaro, Schembri and Valskis takes Chennaiyin to the fifth spot as it beats ATK 3-1 at ATK's home ground. Chennaiyin is now at 25 points -- just one point off fourth-placed Mumbai City, and with one game in hand.

90+4' - GOAL! Nerijus Valskis adds one at death as wraps up the win for Chennaiyin! The Chennaiyin bench bursts into celebration because they know they have pulled off a big win in Kolkata.

90+2' - Chennaiyin is edging closer to the win. The visitor is taking time to take its set pieces in order to bide time.

90' - Four minutes have been added on here. Can Chennai retain its lead?

90' - Kaith spills the ball but Mongil shoots wide! Mongil pokes his boot out but misses an open goal with Kaith way off his line. What a miss!

88' - Edwin yet again blows it into the orbit as Chhangte cuts back from the left for Edwin. That's the end of the game for him as he is being replaced by Deepak Tangri, the defender.

87' - Chhangte goes down theatrically in the ATK box but the referee is not interested for a penalty decision here.

85' - GOAL DISALLOWED! Roy Krishna's header is cancelled out as the linesman credits it offside. Krishna and Soosairaj (who played the ball) were both offside. It's still ATK 1-2 Chennaiyin.

77' - OVER! Williams' shot takes a deflection off Goian's clearance as the ball goes over the bar! Later, Crivellaro shoots wide on the other end after Chhangte found him with a cross from the right flank.

73' - Regin Michael joins his brother Soosairaj on the field as he replaces Jayesh Rane.

69' - Schembri has been brought off as Dragos Firtulescu walks in. Schembri was the second goal scorer for Chennaiyin today. Can Dragos make it 3-1? 20 minutes of regulation time pending.

65' - Garcia threatens from the center as he runs up the field and finds Williams on the left with a pass. Williams cuts it back for Garcia in the box but Chennaiyin defenders intercept.

60' - Edwin gets the ball from the left flank and from 40 yards out, he takes a shot which goes way over the bar. And with that, we have crossed the one-hour mark. It's still ATK 1-2 Chennaiyin.

58' - Defender Laldinliana Renthlei makes a marauding run towards the ATK box but his shot is blocked by Victor Mongil. Everyone is having a go at goal today!

53' - Michael Soosairaj gets the ball on the left flank. He beats a couple of defenders and then gets into the box. He lays it off for Edu Garcia who takes a shot but it is blocked away.

48' - Chhangte misses! With an open goal at his disposal, he shoots wide as Chennaiyin misses the chance to go 3-1 up at Kolkata. Meanwhile, David Williams has replaced Javier Hernandez as a half-time substitute.

Half time: ATK 1-2 Chennaiyin - Chennaiyin found an early lead through Rafael Crivellaro (7') before Andre Schembri doubled the lead (39'). However, Roy Krishna responded immediately for ATK with goal under 50 seconds as he poked the ball beyond the reach of Vishal Kaith between the sticks. The Fijian had the chance to make it 2-2 heading into the break but he could only go as far as the side-netting.

45+3' - MISS! Roy Krishna hits the side-netting after Vishal Kaith comes off the line, leaving the goal fully open for the onrushing ATK forward. Chennai would be relieved to not concede the second before the break.

45' - An additional time of three minutes has been introduced. The game has been entertaining so far with Chennaiyin enjoying more of the ball posession. However, Roy Krishna's goal has somewhat put ATK back into the game after two poorly conceded goals.

40' - GOAL! Roy Krishna brings ATK back into the game as the home side responds quickly. After three passes, Krishna finds the net as he gets the better of a lousy Lucian Goian. ATK 1-2 Chennaiyin.

39' - GOAL! Andre Schembri heads home from the far post off a corner-kick from Anirudh Thapa! A blunder from Arindam as he came off his line, gifting a free header. ATK 0-2 Chennaiyin.

37' - Edu Garcia misses a tap-in from a couple of yards away from goal. That would have anyway not counted as the linesman lifted up the flag. The move was started by Roy Krishna and Prabir Das found Garcia inside the box with a through-pass.

33' - Edwin Vanspaul shoots from distance! Being set up by Chhangte from left, Edwin took a shot from outside the box which forced Arindam to stretch to his left to keep it out of danger.

31' - Rathi's back-header nearly made its way into the ATK goal! Arindam had to track back and pounce on it before the ball crossed the goal line. Like I said earlier, ATK is very disorganised today evening.

30' - The half-hour mark is here. ATK seems to be quite disorganised in its play as it is allowing Chennaiyin to get all over it. As things stand, it is Chennaiyin that is leading by a goal, thanks to Rafael Crivellaro.

26' - Thapa's corner is headed towards goal by an onrushing Sabia but it goes over the bar. Meanwhile, it seems like a serious injury for Anas, who has hurt his left knee and was taken off on a stretcher with a long knee-brace.

23' - Anas Edathodika won't have a role to play further in the game as he has injured his knee. The defender will make way for Michael Soosairaj.

20' - Sumit Rathi's right-footed delivery swings towards the goal but it lacks the power to trouble Vishal Kaith between the sticks. Rathi made the run from the defence up to the Chennaiyin box to get to the end of the cross from Roy Krishna, from the right.

17' - GOAL DISALLOWED! Andre Schembri's header is cancelled out as Sabia, who headed the ball off Anirudh Thapa's corner-kick for Schembri, was offside when the set-piece was played. Owen Coyle's joy was short-lived.

10' - The tempo of the game has increased since the goal. Just a minute after the opener, ATK tried to bounce back through an attack via Prabir Das' long-range strike. Later, Chennaiyin threatened through the flanks from Lallianzuala Chhangte. His cross from the left was blocked by Arindam Bhattacharja but the second ball was taken by Nerijus Valskis, who tried an overhead-kick!

7' - GOAL! ATK 1-0 Chennaiyin. Rafael Crivellaro opens the account for the visiting Chennaiyin side with an early strike! Eli Sabia intercepted the ATK midfield to set up Crivellaro, who ran all the way from the middle of the park to the goal to seal it off with a cool, calm finish.

1' - Kick-off! ATK vs Chennaiyin is underway in Kolkata. A win for ATK tonight can take it to the top of the points table, whereas a win for Chennaiyin will take it to the fifth spot. ATK has already qualified for the playoff but Chennaiyin is still fighting to seal the fourth and final berth.

While we count down to kick-off, take 12 minutes out to watch the Chennaiyin FC duo of Dhanpal Ganesh and Edwin Vanspaul talk about their football journey to the ISL, answer the difficult choice (!!) of picking between Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth and reveal the worst dancer in the dressing room.

Match preview

ATK will be looking to complete its home leg of the league phase when it takes on a resurgent Chennaiyin FC at the Salt Lake Stadium on Sunday.

The clash of two of the most successful sides of the tournament – with each winning the title twice – is likely to offer an exciting contest as both need a win to realise their individual objectives.

ATK needs a win to join FC Goa at the top of the standings and keep its AFC Asian Champions League qualification dream intact, while Chennaiyin needs a favourable result to keep its playoff chances alive.

Even the league statistics give out enough about the form of the two opponents. Both sides have scored four wins in their last five outings and have established themselves as two of the best attacking outfits in the current season.

While ATK has maintained a better level of consistency winning 10 matches in 16 appearances (33 points) so far, Chennaiyin has made a spectacular turnaround after making a mediocre start and has six wins in 15 outings (22 points).

“At the moment the performance level is absolutely at its peak for us, but we have to keep on playing that way. It is going to be a good match as both Chennaiyin and ATK play very good football. Our target is to keep on winning the next match every day,” ATK’s Spanish head coach, Antonio Lopez Habas, said.

Chennaiyin FC’s Scottish head coach, Owen Coyle, also predicted a close contest considering the targets the opponent has set for itself. Coyle, who set Chennaiyin on a recovery path since taking over from outgoing coach John Gregory early in December, said his boys are eager to finish the job.

“The ATK and Chennaiyin are two-time champions for a reason. We have to take our chances to get to the top-four position. It is remarkable what we have done to be where we are now. We have to try and finish our job,” said Coyle while stressing how his team recovered from the bottom of the table to emerge as one of the contenders for a top-four berth.
