Match Report: Real sinks Granada to remain in La Liga title hunt

A dominant display by Madrid puts it on 78 points, just two behind league leader Atletico Madrid. The title race is very much on- surely La Liga's best in recent years.

Granada had no answer to a dominant Madrid side. After pulling one back in the second half courtesy of Molina's goal, things looked bright for the home side but quick goals by Odriozola and Benzema put the game to bed.

FULL-TIME!!! A DOMINANT DISPLAY BY THE LOS BLANCOS

THREE MINUTES ADDED!!

85' GREAT SAVE!!! Soro curled a great shot on Courtois' goal after Nacho failed to get it away but the Belgian pulled off a magnificent save.

76' GOAAAAALLLLLL!!!!! ITS BENZEMA (GRANADA 1 REAL MADRID 4)- Silva rushed out of his box to smother Militao's long ball byt he ended up giving it straight to Benzema, who showed great composure and put the ball inside the open net.

75' GOAAAAALLLLLL!!!!! REAL MADRID AGAIN!! ITS ODRIOZOLA!! (GRANADA 1 REAL MADRID 3)- Odriozola's late run in the box proved valuable as he caught Sanchez out from a Hazard cross and fired the ball inot the roof of the net.

72' BOOKING!! Domingos Quina is booked after his challenge on Hazard

71' GOOOAAALLLLLL!!!! ITS GRANADA!! ITS MOLINA (GRANADA 1 REAL MADRID 2)- Luis Suarez making things happen. His shot at Courtois invited a great save by the Belgian but the rebound felt straight to Molina, who took his chance well.

66' CHANCE!!! A great bit of play between Suarez and Soro. Soro flicked the ball across Courtois' goal with Suarez at the end of it. However, he misjudged the height of the ball and the chance goes begging.

63' BOOKING!! Nacho tried to win the ball with a challenge on Molina from the back. Clear yellow.

58' CHANCE!! Luka Modric slips in a wonderful ball to Vinicius inside Granada's box but he shoots straight at Silva who makes the save.

53' BOOKING!! Eteki gets his name taken down for clipping Modric's ankle.

52' Granada not being able to keep possession at all. A really clumsy display Martinez's men in the second half.

49' BOOKING!! Modric goes into the referee's book for his late challenge on Eteki.

SECOND HALF UNDERWAY!!

Real Madrid clearly the better team in the first half as goals by Modric and Rodrygo allows the champion to enjoy a comfortable lead at half time. Miguel and Marvin, the two youth players of Madrid's have bagged an assist each.

Granada need to pull its socks up if it hopes to get any result from this match.

HALF-TIME!!!

45+1 GOAAALLLLL!!!! ITS MADRID AGAIN!! GOAL FOR RODRYGO (GRANADA 0 REAL MADRID 2) Rodrygo latched on to a ball by Marvin on the right flank with acres of green in front of him. He kept his composure and shot across Silva's goal. The ball went in after grazing the inside of the post.

TWO ADDED MINUTES!!!

42' Madrid's inexperienced backline having a comfortable game till now as Martinez's men with a tame performance to this point.

40' BOOKING!! Jorge Molina of Granada becomes the first Granada player to be booked for the night

38' BOOKING!! Eder Militao of Real Madrid becomes the first player to go into the referee's book for the night.

33' A great counter by Madrid again with Valverde at the centre of it. After an approximate dart of 70 yards he passes to Benzema on his left but the Frenchman with a disappointing shot, which is well wide.

3 0' Benzema got himself in a good position at the edge of Granada's box and tries to curl one in but his shot is deflected and ends up with Silva.

26' CHANCE!! A great balll by Valverde down the line to Marvin who made a nice run along the right flank. His low shot across Granada's goal is wide.

22' Real Madrid's duo of Miguel and Marvin having an excellent game till now. Marvin with three retrievals while Miguel with five.

17' GOAAAALLLL!!! REAL MADRID WITH THE BREAKTHROUGH!! ITS MODRIC (GRANADA 0 REAL MADRID 1) A great scooped pass by debutant Miguel to Modric. The Croatian did not disappoint as his low shot at Silva's near post crept inside the net.

14' GREAT SAVE- After a brilliant counter attack by Real Madrid, Vinicius pinged in a lovely cross, which found Benzema's head. However, Granada keeper Silva did well to guide the Frenchman's header away from his goal.

9' That was quite a good run from Vinicius but nothing substantial comes at the end of it as his shot at Silva is well over the bar.

6' Madrid enjoying early possession and dealing with Granada's press fairly comfortably.

3' Real Madrid starting brightly with all the pressure. No threat posed yet but Zidane's men look crisp in their play.
