In the quarterfinals, Netherlands will face the winner of the final round of 16 match between Austria and Turkiye.

Malen again!! A corner from Romania is cleared away by the Dutch defence. He gets the ball in his own half carries the ball and drives into the box. He keeps his cool and finishes it into the bottom left corner.

Netherlands: Gakpo is replaced by Wout Weghorst

Malen scores!! Brilliant from Gakpo once again who keeps the ball alive on the left side of the box. He lays it off on a plate for Malen inside the six-yard area who finishes it into an open net.

Netherlands is on the break with Malen carrying the ball. He has Gakpo on his right and feeds the ball to him. Gakpo takes a touch and takes a shot which is blocked by Razvan Marin who slided in.

Dumfries is shown a yellow card for time wasting while taking a throw-in.

Here come the Dutch again. Dumfries plays a cross into the middle from the right. Depay is there but is stopped from heading the ball by some good defending from Dragusin.

Gakpo plays a brilliant back heel inside the box to Joey Veerman. He wraps his foot around the ball to find the far corner. The ball goes just past the right post.

Romania: Hagi, M Marin and Dragus are replaced by Valentin Mihaila, Denis alibec and Alexander Cicaldau.

Denis Man gets the ball on the right side of the box and whips in a cross which is cleared away by the Dutch defence.

Netherlands: Ake and Schouten are replaced by Micky van de Ven and Joey Veerman.

Depay stands over the freekick and hits it under the wall. The ball whizzes just past the left post.

The Dutch are knocking on the door for a second now. Razvan Marin brings down Xavi Simons just outside the box and gets booked. He will miss the next match if Romania advance.

Gakpo thought he had scored after a corner but VAR checks confirm that he was in an offside position.

Gakpo does brilliantly under pressure in his own half and carries the ball himself. He takes a shot from outside the box and forces another brilliant save from Nati.

Space opens up for Donyell Malen on the right wing. Depay and Gakpo are in the middle but Malen’s pass is late and the ball is blocked away for a corner. 

The corner comes in from the right and Van Dijk rises the highest and hits the target . Nita makes a brilliant save to keep his side in the tie.

Gakpoo on the left edge of the box. He spots Dumfries at the far post a curls a ball in. Hagi applies pressure and Dumfries goes down asking for a penalty. The referee takes a look and waves play on.

Netherlands is enjoying a good spell of possession at the moment. Dumfries gets the ball on the right and plays it to Malen in the box. His touch is not enough as the ball falls to Depay. He takes a shit which is cleared off the line by Racovitan.

Reijnders gets the ball in his own half and goes all the way. He takes a shot from outside the box which is blocked by Racovitan.

The freekick comes in from the right for Romania. Vebruggen comes off his line and punches the ball away from danger. 

Romania has started the second half just like it did in the first half, with a high press. The Netherlands defence is struggling to ward off the pressure as De Vrij fouls Stanciu.

Netherlands: Bergwijn is replaced by Donyell Malen.

Hagi is on the left now. He plays a low pass into the box which is cleared away for a corner by Van Dijk. The following corner does not produce anything for Romania as the referee blows the whistle for half time.

Denis Dragus gets he ball on the left and he cuts into his right and takes a shot from the edge of the box. Vebruggen positions himself well to make the save and gather the ball.

Dumfries chases the ball down and wins it from Racovitan inside the box. He lays it on a plate for Simons in the middle who took too many touches before hitting it wide of the right post.

Romania is hanging on for dear life as the Netherlands take its 10th corner of the game. Depay’s corner it goes out directly after he tries to catch the keeper out with an inswinger with the outside of his right boot. 

Memphis Depay brilliantly gets away from his defender on the right and drives into the box. He plays a pass into the middle which is reached by no one. Simons gets the ball on the left and tries a cross which is blocked away for a corner.

Romania: Mogos seems like he cannot carry on as he is replaced by Bodgan Racovitan

Vasile Mogos and Dumfries are both down on the pitch after a nasty collision. The medical staff rushes onto the pitch to give treatment.

Both players seems fine and the match resumes.

Reijnders plays a beautiful through ball to Dumfries who made a run into the right of the box. He plays a low pass into the six yard area for Depay but Dragusin slides in to clear the ball away for a corner.

Netherlands is looking dangerous on the corners as another one comes in from Depay. This time it is cleared away only as far as Simons who plays it back to the keeper to help his side keep possession.

Dumfries plays a cross into the middle which is cleared away only as far as Reijnders at the edge of the box. He hits it on the volley but Dragusin makes a brave block.

The following corner comes straight to a wide-open De Vrij at the far post. But he misses the target with his free header.

Romania is looking for a quick response. Hagi finds Stanciu on the left, who cuts back a pass into the box. Denis Man was running up to the ball but Ake does well to hold him off and take the sting out of Man’s shot.

Cody Gakpo scores!! Netherlands was enjoying a good spell of possession after a shaky start to the game. Gakpo gets the ball on the left side of the box and cuts into the penalty area. He lashes his right foot at the ball and it goes in at the near post after touching the fingertips of keeper Nita.

This is Gakpo’s third goal of the tournament.

De Vrij gets the ball and plays it through for Dumfries on the right wing. Hagi cuts him down and blocks his cross to concede a corner.

Romanian Raznav Marin plays a beautiful through ball for Dragus who gets the ball caught up in his feet inside the box. Van Dijk clears the ball away. 

Denis Man gets the ball on the right and cuts into the middle of the pitch. He takes a shot with his left which goes just over the bar. 

Romania is mounting pressure on the Dutch with attack after attack. Schouten plays a risky back pass to his goalkeeper which Verbruggen has to come out and clear away from danger.

At the other end, Simons gets the ball and plays a through ball into the box for Depay. His shot is saved by Nita and the flag goes up for offside.

A bandaged-up Hagi gets the ball in the middle of the pitch and dribbles the length of the half before laying the ball off to Marin. Nathan Ake tracked the run well and clears the ball away from danger.

Hagi is getting bandaged up on the sidelines after colliding with Dumfries.

Romania gets the ball and R Marin whips in a cross into the middle from the right. Hagi is there but so is Dumfries, who strongly heads the ball away from the Romanian.

Both teams havestarted the match aggressively, chasing the ball all the way to the ends of the pitch. Netherlands is passing the ball around the back trying to settle but Romania’s high press is troubling them.

The Netherlands might have emerged from a disappointing performance in the group phase of the European Championship with a favourable pairing but it will be wary of Romania when they meet on Tuesday in Munich in the round of 16.
