Top 5 Wayne Rooney moments at Manchester United

The then 18-year-old Wayne Rooney made possibly one of the best debuts in football history. Rooney scored a brilliant hat-trick against Fenerbahce in a Champions League group game and announced his arrival to world football in style.

In a terribly tense derby, Rooney arguably scored one of the best goals of his career. Rooney met Luis Nani's cross with a sensational bicycle kick, that was later named as one of the greatest goals in Premier League history.

Sensing West Ham's keeper James Tomkins was well off his line, Rooney fired a powerful half-volley to score his side's firs goal. It brought back memories of David Beckham's similar goal and to make it even better, Beckham was present in the stands to witness his former team-mates striking goal.

This was the iconic moment when Rooney scored a stunning free kick to go past Sir Bobby Charlton's record and became the United's highest ever goal-scorer. Rooney recorded his 250th goal for the club with a splendid strike that not only fetched him a record, but got his side back on level terms in the 94th-minute.

Wayne Rooney, an Evertonian, scored the decisive goal at Ewood Park which ensured United sealed its 19th Premier League title, overtaking Liverpool - both United's and Everton's fiercest rival. He smashed his penalty past Paul Robinson to lead wild celebrations at the away end.
