MGC Sportstar Open: V. Darshan clinches title

Darshan tallied 136 Gross to emerge as the champion in the Open event.

V. Darshan, with 136 Gross, emerged as the champion in the Open event at the MGC Sportstar Open amateur golf tournament at the Madras Gymkhana Club here on Sunday.

The Open event saw a record-breaking performance from Darshan, who shot two under the course on both days. First runner-up Nikhil Cherian finished 20 strokes behind the winner.

Shankar Mahadevan bagged the hours in the handicap category with a 136 nett over two days.

The prizes were given away after the second round on Sunday. Rohit Ramesh, Director, The Hindu Group, was the guest of honour.
