Volkswagen Motorsport India today confirmed that its racing series Vento Cup will switch to MRF Tyres for the upcoming season, ending a six year partnership with JK Tyre.

It was earlier announced that Vento Cup will now be run alongside the Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC), promoted Indian National Racing Championship.

The 2016 edition will be conducted on the same lines as the previous season with a total of 10 races across four rounds hosted at the three racing circuits in India.

In addition to Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore and Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, where the series was taking place under the JK Tyre banner, the one-make series will return to Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai after a break of three years.

Twenty drivers will be seen competing against each other for the title honours across junior and professional categories.
