Sports should be an integral part of the school curriculum for children. We are looking at creating new opportunities for the children in Srinagar by integrating sports and education towards realising the dream of Samagra Shiksha and the vision of making '300 million children playing 60 minutes daily' — #MakingIndiaPlay.”

Mr Juan Pablo Ramirez Miranda, Programme Specialist, Head of Social Sciences and Human Sciences, UNESCO, emphasised “the importance of being mindful of gender equality because of the power of sports for girls and women empowerment,” and signalled the social value of investments on quality physical education.
