Dilreen Gill continued to assert her supremacy as she topped in women’s air rifle in the shooting National selection trials at the Dr. Karni Singh Range, Tughlakabad, on Thursday. Dilreen, who had pipped Anjum Moudgil in the first trial, beat Olympic finalist and world record holder Suma Shirur by 2.3 points this time.
Qualification topper Aashi Rastogi had to settle for the third place. Kiranjit Kaur and Anjum Moudgil took the fourth and fifth places respectively, while national silver medallist Geetakshi Dixit placed 18th in a strong field of 163 shooters.
Rashmi Takhar missed the final by 0.2 point while former World champion in prone, Tejaswini Sawant, missed the cut by 0.3 point.
In men’s rifle prone event, Rahul Poonia beat Imran Hasan Khan by 1.8 point for the top spot, while the earlier topper Swapnil Kusale settled for the third place, ahead of Parul Kumar, Sanjeev Rajput, Surendra Singh Rathod, Sushil Ghaley and Suvajit Chakraborty.
In standard pistol, Amanpreet Singh topped with 570, four points more than Pardeep, while Yogesh Singh beat Neeraj Kumar 14-12 in terms of ‘inner 10s’ after being tied on 565. Olympic silver medallist Vijay Kumar was fifth on 562.

25m standard pistol: 1. Amanpreet Singh 570; 2. Pardeep 566; 3. Yogesh Singh 565.
Women: 10m air rifle: 1. Dilreen Gill 207.5 (414.8) 2. Suma Shirur 205.2 (415.2); 3. Aashi Rastogi 185.8 (417.2).
