We know what's on Indian skipper Virat Kohli's playlist and we have Shikhar Dhawan to thank for it.

From folksy dance numbers to out-and-out romantic songs, it's all there on captain Kohli's playlist, his favourite genre - (no surprises here) Punjabi!

In a tweet shared by BCCI, Dhawan said, “Kohli loves listening to Gurdas Maan songs a lot. He loves romantic numbers sung by Arijit Singh too.”

Kohli's love for the legendary Punjabi singer's music comes as no surprise, considering Maan performed at his wedding reception back in 2017.

Dhawan was speaking in New Delhi on the occasion of the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium being renamed in honour of the late former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. A stand in the pavilion was also officially named after the Indian skipper.

Kohli was seen sitting with wife and actor Anushka Sharma as Dhawan asked the anchor “before marriage or after” when he asked about Kohli’s preferred choice of music, perfectly tongue-in-cheek.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma were in attendance at the event which also saw a stand at the Feroze Shah Kotla being named after the skipper.

Head coach Ravi Shastri first suggested the anchor to quiz Dhawan about Kohli’s music choices as the Delhi players pair hang out together a lot

The event was also an emotional moment for the star couple after DDCA President Rajat Sharma shared an incident when Jaitley had visited Kohli's home in Delhi after the demise of his father. He was part of the under-19 team at the time and had a match to play soon after. Sharma recalled how Kohli continued with the game despite his loss.

Anushka was seen consoling Virat in a video that has now gone viral online.

India will take on South Africa in the first T20 in Dharamsala on Sunday.
