Anil Khanna elected Life President of AITA

The president of the Asian Tennis Federation and the Vice-President of the International Tennis Federation, Anil Khanna was elected as Life President of the All India Tennis Association in its Annual General Meeting in Indore on Saturday.

Anil Khanna joins S. M. Krishna and Yashwant Singh in the list of AITA Life Presidents.

The president of the Asian Tennis Federation and the Vice-President of the International Tennis Federation (ITF), Anil Khanna was elected as Life President of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) in its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Indore on Saturday. He joins S. M. Krishna and Yashwant Singh in the list of AITA Life Presidents.

A release from the AITA states that 23 affiliated units had unanimously proposed to re-elect Anil Khanna as the President of AITA, but he decided to take up the position only when the matter was settled with regard to the interpretation of the Sports Code of the Union Sports Ministry.

Hironmoy Chatterjee of the Bengal Tennis Association was elected as the Secretary General. Raktim Saikia will continue as the treasurer, while Suman Kapur and Anil Dhupar will be the Joint Secretaries.

Bharat Oza, the former Secretary General, will continue as a Vice-President, along with Aneil Mahajan, Chintan Parikh, C. S. Sunder Raju, Dalbir Singh, Deepender Hooda, M. A. Alagappan, Praveen Mahajan, Rajan Kashyap and Shatrughan Sinha.

The Executive Committee for 2016-18 will be Dr. A. B. Prasad, Vikram Singh Sisodia, Ashok Kumar, Asit Tripathy, C. B. N. Reddy, Capt. Murti Gupta, Dinesh Arora, Prof. T. D. Francis, Sunder Iyer, C. P. Kacker, Dr. Subhash Marriya and Noorudin Mather.
