Rennes Challenger: Balaji and Vishnu in quarterfinals

Indian duo of Sriram Balaji and Vishnu Vardhan defeated Manuel Guinard and Maxime Janvier of France 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 to advance to the quarterfinal of the Rennes Challenger on Tuesday.

Vishnu Vardhan (in pic) and Sriram Balaji reached the quarterfinals of the Rennes Challenger on Tuesday.

Sriram Balaji and Vishnu Vardhan combined well to beat Manuel Guinard and Maxime Janvier of France 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 in the doubles pre-quarterfinals of the €64,000 Challenger tennis tournament in France on Tuesday.

In the ITF Futures in China, qualifier Nitin Kumar Sinha and Arjun Kadhe joined Manish Sureshkumar in the singles pre-quarterfinals. The Indian players also set up a doubles quarterfinals against each other.

In the $15,000 ITF Futures in Spain, wild card entrant Adil Kalyanpur went down fighting in three sets to fourth seed Ivan Gakhov of Russia. Adil, who trains at the Rafael Nadal Academy, incidentally the host of the tournament, made the doubles quarterfinals with a Korean partner and will challenge top seeds Ivan Gakhov and Evgeny Tyurnev of Russia.
