The marquee India vs Pakistan clash of the 2023 Asian Champions Trophy is set to take place at the Mayor Radhakrishnan stadium in Chennai on August 9th 2023.

India enters the contest with a place in the semifinals already in the bag, while Pakistan will need a result to stand a chance of qualification.

One of the stars of the Pakistan hockey team, Abdul Rehman, speaks of his excitement in taking part in such a high-profile contest.

Captain Umar Bhutta and Hannan Shahid give their views on their greatest memories in the rivalry, with both mentioning the 2014 Champions Trophy match win for Pakistan as one of their highlights.

Pakistan’s yesteryear superstar Rehan Butt spoke of his memories playing in the intense contest, shedding light on the incredible home support that India gets across venues like Chennai and Hyderabad, making it a tougher proposition for the Pakistan compared to playing in neutral venues.

Former Olympians, Saeed Khan from Pakistan and V Baskaran from India spoke about the rivalry during the 20th century and the growth of the sport to other places in the world.

India’s coach Craig Fulton termed the rivalry ‘important’, while also reminding the fans the game is just another contest in the broader scheme of the Asian Champions Trophy.
