Mulki Sunder all-India C’ship: ICF books spot in final

ICF defeated host Vijaya Bank 88-77 in the semifinal of the Mulki Sunder Ram Shetty all-India basketball tournament, at Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium here on Saturday. ICF will face IOB (Chennai) in the final on Sunday.

Vijaya Bank, on the back of winning the offensive rebound battle, took a 20-18 lead at the end of the first quarter. ICF point guard G. A. Anto (26 points) excelled in the second period, finding his team-mates with precise assists. Anto found an able partner in power forward P. Vijay (31 points), who had another exceptional outing.

Vijaya Bank closed the distance between the two sides to 10 points in the final quarter, but was unable to stop an efficient ICF on the offensive end.

IOB (Chennai) beats Chennai Customs

In the second semifinal, IOB (Chennai) whipped Chennai Customs 90-57. Haresh Koroth (20 points) stood out with his clean shots from beyond the arc.
