The Indian boys and girls teams will compete in the Junior NBA World
Championship for the 13-14 age group, to be staged at the ESPN Wide
World of Sports Complex, at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, US,
from August 7 to 12.
The tournament will feature 16 US teams and 16 international teams
from Africa, Middle East, Asia Pacific, Canada, China, Europe, India,
Mexico and South America.
Some of the leading personalities of basketball, Dwyane Wade, Andre
Drummond, Vince Carter, Brook Lopez, Grant Hill, Tamika Catchings,
Swin Cash and Jennifer Azzi will be associated with the competition
scheduled to feature 317 boys and girls from 35 countries.
‘’The Junior NBA World Championship is more than a basketball
competition. It is a global stage for some of the top youth players
form around the world to showcase their talent, have fun and learn
from one another’’, said Dwyane Wade, the three-time NBA champion and
the global ambassador for the event.
