World Youth Women's C'ship: Nitu gets India off to a win

Nitu defeated Yuan Nei in the semifinals of the World Youth Women's Championship in the light fly category. Sakshi Chaudhary from the Bantam category also reached the final.

Nitu (in Red) of India reached the finals of the World Youth Women's Championship in the light fly category.

India extended its dominance in the World Youth Women's Championship as Nitu defeated China's Yuan Nei in the semifinals of the light fly category at the N. C. Bordoloi Indoor Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday.

The scoreline read 4-1 in Nitu's favour.

Sakshi Chaudhary (54kg) became the second Indian on the evening to reach the final of the Bantam category. She was awarded the victory when her opponent abandoned the fight late into the third round.
