Vidit Gujrathi scored an emphatic win over Russia’s Maksim Chigaev to join B. Adhiban and eight others in the second place at 2.5 points after three rounds of the FIDE Chess.com Grand Swiss here on Saturday.

World No. 2 Fabiano Caruana (USA) and Wang Hao (China) share the lead with three points.

Viswanathan Anand drew with Azerbaijan’s Nijat Abasov to reach two points. Young Raunak Sadhwani (2) proved equal to higher-rated team-mate Surya Shekhar Ganguly.

K. Sasikiran scored his first win at the expense of D. Harika while S. P. Sethuraman ended his losing streak by beating Russia’s Jovanka Houska.
