BCCI to write to ICC to inspect Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram venues

The BCCI will soon ask the International Cricket Council (ICC) to inspect the cricket grounds at Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram in order to get its clearance to stage international matches at the two new venues.

Chennai to host India-Australia ODI in September

With the Technical Committee recommending the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy matches to be played on a “home and away’’ format the BCCI is likely to schedule a match at the Greenfield from October 6.

While the BCCI’s Tour Programme and Fixtures Committee has allotted a Twenty20 international against Australia to Assam, a Twenty20 international may be held either at Thiruvananthapuram or Kochi.

Three of the five disqualified members in the Tour Programme and Fixtures Committee – G. Gangaraju (Chairman), P.R.Ashokanand, Rajesh Verma — did not attend the meeting at Kolkata on Tuesday.
