A stark difference from Virat Singh of the first session - who was showing incredible discipline by not playing anything that didn't need to be played. Jharkhand 255/9 in 88 overs.

Bengal vs Jharkhand | Dhruva : Horrible mix-up in the middle as Sushant Mishra takes off for a single and Virat Singh doesn't budge from the striker's end. It was the last ball of the over and Sushant probably thought of keeping Virat on strike. Jharkhand 241/9.

Another horrific miscommunication - this time Virat Singh wants the single after Ashish Kumar gently taps the ball on leg-side. But the throw from the keeper is wild and wide and Ashish makes it.

Bengal vs Jharkhand | Dhruva : Jharkhand 212/7 in 74 overs at Lunch . Virat Singh is unbeaten on 56, and Shukla is batting on 1. Mondal and Shahbaz with a wicket each in the session. Virat has looked solid all morning with his defence and is the only thing that stands between Bengal and a colossal first-innings lead.

Mumbai vs Uttarakhand | Amol tweets : Mumbai on course for registering the highest margin of victory in First Class cricket. The previous highest: 685 New South Wales beat Queensland 1929-30. In Ranji Trophy, the highest margin: 540 Bengal beat Orissa in 1953-54.

Mumbai vs Uttarakhand | Amol : Shams Mulani has run through the middle order, taking three wickets in his first three overs. Uttarakhand are unlikely bat through the first session. Aditya Tare is keeping despite having hurt his finger.

 

Punjab vs Madhya Pradesh | Lalith texts: Saransh Jain gets his third wicket as he surprises Vinay Choudhary with a sharp delivery that shoots up to take the outside edge to slip. Punjab 203/9 in 68.3 overs.

Punjab vs Madhya Pradesh | Lalith : Meanwhile, Punjab takes the lead with a massive SIX from Mayank Markande over mid-wicket. Punjab 184/8 in 64.3 overs - leads by 6.

Mumbai vs Uttarakhand | Amol : Mohit Avasthi joined the party, breaching Swapnil Singh's defence and pegging back the middle stump. Chandela is looking steady as Uttarakhand is struggling at 29/4 at the drinks break.

Bengal vs Jharkhand | Dhruva : Mondal gets his fourth wicket. Angles it into Anukul Roy on a length and then moves it away and it takes the outside edge to the slip cordon. Jharkhand 157/6.

Bengal vs Jharkhand | Dhruva : Just 14 runs coming in the first 11 overs of the day. Jharkhand 153/5 in 54 overs. Virat Singh and Anukul Roy are up for a challenge. Bengal could also be in for a long day in the field.

Mumbai vs Uttarakhand | Amol says: Dhawal sets up Robin Bist with a perfect over. Bowls five outswingers that pitched in the channel and follows it up with one that Jags back in. Bist is nowhere behind the line and the off-stump goes cartwheeling.

Mumbai vs Uttarakhand | Here's Amol : Dhawal Kulkarni has been on a roll in the morning. He first gets one away to shape in and then move to castle Kamal Singh, then gets swings one into Jay Bista to make it a pair for the Uttarakhand captain. Chandela and Bist have survived since then. 15/2.

Punjab vs Madhya Pradesh | Lalith : Kumar Kartikeya aims to spin MP to the win over Punjab on Day 4 at Alur (3). Madhya Pradesh within touching distance of the semis.

Mumbai vs Uttarakhand | Amol : Mumbai has formally declared at 261/3. Can Uttarakhand put up a better show in its essay and chase 796?

3. Jharkhand 139/5 in 45 overs ( Singh 17*, Roy  1*)   trail by 634 runs vs Bengal

4. Mumbai 261/3 in 58 overs ( Jaffer 17*, Parkar 6*) lead by 794 runs vs Uttarakhand

Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday, became the first side to reach the semifinals of the ongoing season of Ranji Trophy with a thumping five wickets win over Karnataka.

On Day 4, Bengal would like to bowl out Jharkhand as early as possible to take a massive lead. After posting 773 for 7, pacer Sayan Mondal scalped three wickets while Shahbaz Ahmed took a couple to reduce Jharkhand to 139 for 5 at stumps on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the game between Punjab and Madhya Pradesh is drifting towards an exciting finish, with the former trailing by 58 runs after the fall of five wickets.

Mumbai, on the other hand, continues to pile misery on Uttarakhand bowlers as its lead has now reached 794. Mumbai is likely to declare its second innings in the first session and allow its bowlers to take the side to the semifinals.
