Punjab 123/7 after 18 overs. Just two runs from the over and it is now all about completing formalities.

Punjab 121/6 after 17 overs: Sarfaraz Khan is enjoying himself as he reverse slogs Trent Boult for a boundary! But, this match is all but over for Punjab.

Punjab 112/6 after 16 overs: Jasprit Bumrah picks his second wicket and packs off James Neesham. Mumbai well and truly on top of the game.

Punjab 109/5 after 15 overs: Rahul Chahar removes the dangerous Glenn Maxwell to hand the match to Mumbai. Maxwell wasn’t timing the ball well and this time went for a heave only to give Trent Boult a catch in the deep. It is almost curtains down for Punjab.

Punjab 105/4 after 14 overs: James Pattinson strikes and removes the dangerous Nicholas Pooran who falls for a 27-ball 44. It now boils down to Maxwell to play a blinder from here. James Neesham joins Maxwell.

Punjab 99/3 after 13 overs: Excellent from Krunal Pandya as he finishes with 4-0-27-1. Punjab in need of some big overs with the required run-rate climbing near to 14 rpo.

Punjab 87/3 after 11 overs: Nicholas Pooran survives a huge LBW call and then tonks Rahul Chahar for a huge six over long-on. He is keeping Punjab in the hunt. 15 runs from the over.

Punjab 72/3 after 10 overs: Nicholas Pooran smacks Pattinson through the backward point boundary as 10 runs come from the over.

Punjab 64/3 after 9 overs: Rahul Chahar slips in another brilliant over and Glenn Maxwell is yet to find the middle of his bat.

WICKET! Rahul Chahar gets the prized wicket of KL Rahul to put Mumbai on top. Rahul tried to play the paddle shot but is bowled behind his legs. Massive wicket for Mumbai and it’s now over to Pooran to play a blinder from here on.

Punjab 60/2 after 8 overs: Nicholas Pooran smacks Krunal Pandya out of the park with a slog-sweep and then smashes for a boundary to give Punjab a much required momentum. 15 runs from the over.

Punjab 45/2 after 7 overs: Rahul Chahar has further dented Punjab’s chase with an excellent over, conceding just four runs.

Punjab 41/2 after 6 overs. Krunal Pandya is bossing against Punjab after a superb opening over, he comes to dismiss Karun Nair for a duck and Punjab is in early trouble in chase of 192.

Punjab 38/1 after 5 overs: Jasprit Bumrah strikes as he castles the in-form Mayank Agarwal for 25. Bumrah gives Mumbai an early breakthrough and Rohit Sharma is relieved. Karun Nair joins KL Rahul.

Punjab 37/0 after 4 overs. Krunal Pandya slips in a brilliant over as he gives just four singles and doesn’t allow the Punjab openers to open their arms.

Punjab 33/0 after 3 overs: Excellent from Mayank Agarwal as he steers Boult past the deep backward point for a boundary and the timing was exceptional.

Punjab 24/0 after 2 overs: Mayank Agarwal is timing the ball well and both the Punjab openers are exactly doing what is required off them. Lovely batting.

Punjab 12/0 after 1 over: KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal begin the chase in earnest fashion with both batsmen picking a boundary each.

Punjab begins chase. Alright we are back for the chase and it will be Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul with Trent Boult opening the bowling.

End of Innings: Mumbai posts 191/4 after 20 overs

104 runs in the last 6 overs. What a turnaround for Mumbai and a ruthless onslaught from Kieron Pollard (47 off 20) has given Mumbai a winning total. 25 runs from Krishnappa Gowtham’s last over and it was a bad call to ask a spinner the last over. Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami is now the owner of the Purple Cap. We will back for the chase shortly.

Mumbai 166/4 after 19 overs: Mohammed Shami misses his mark and Kieron Pollard smacks him for three boundaries with Pandya fethching a boundary. 19 runs from the over and Mumbai has crossed the 160-run mark.

Mumbai 147/4 after 18 overs. Hardik Pandya has teed off as he smashes Neesham for 18 runs in the over with the help of a six and two boundaries. Mumbai on the attack.

Mumbai 129/4 after 17 overs: MI vs KXIP: Excellent review from Kieron Pollard as he successfully overturns a LBW decision. Over to Pandya and Pollard to power Mumbai to a competitive total.

Wicket! Rohit Sharma departs for a well-made 45-ball 70 as Glenn Maxwell and James Neesham perform a little tag-team effort near the ropes. Maxwell caught the ball, crosses the ropes but threw the ball before landing as Neesham took it comfortably. Hardik Pandya joins Pollard. Time for some action.

Mumbai 124/3 after 16 overs. Rohit Sharma reached his 38th IPL half-century and tore into James Neesham with two back-to-back boundaries and then unleashed a brilliant pull as the ball sailed over deep square leg. The Mumbai skipper then lofted Neesham over the deep extra cover as 22 runs came from the over.

Mumbai 102/3 after 15 overs: Pollard has teed off on arrival as he smokes Bishnoi over the long-on for a maximum and then Rohit latches on to a half-volley over the deep mid-wicket as the 100 comes up for Mumbai.

Mumbai 87/3 after 14 overs: Excellent over from Gowtham and the fall of Ishan Kishan brings Kieron Pollard into the middle.

Wicket! Krishnappa Gowtham with the breakthrough and Ishan Kishan’s struggle in the middle comes to an end. Tried to play the slogsweep but hit it straight to Karun Nair at deep mid-wicket. Kieron Pollard joins Rohit.

Mumbai 83/2 after 13 overs: Excellent from Sheldon Cottrell as he finishes with 4-1-20-1 and Mumbai needs to get a move on.

Mumbai 80/2 after 12 overs: Ravi Bishnoi drops Ishan Kishan on 24 and how costly that would be remains to be seen. Both batsmen are pacing their innings nicely and will tee off pretty soon. Run rate just above 6 and Mumbai will aim to accelerate.

Mumbai 73/2 after 11 overs: Ishan Kishan gets into the groove with a massive six over deep mid-wicket and the 50-run stand is up between him and Rohit.

Mumbai 62/2 after 10 overs: Slow start by Mumbai given its reputation but this has been excellent bowling by Krishnappa Gowtham and Ravi Bishnoi. They are not giving anything to both Rohit and Kishan.

Mumbai 58/2 after 9 overs: Rohit Sharma is taking much of the strike as Ishan Kishan is struggling for timing. The Mumbai skipper is in sublime touch and a superb late cut off Ravi Bishnoi showed how well Rohit has read the pitch.

Mumbai 51/2 after 8 overs: G ood move to bring Mohammed Shami back into the attack as he gives just four from the over. The partnership between Rohit and Ishan Kishan is slowly building.

Mumbai 47/2 after 7 overs: James Neesham bowled an excellent over and almsot got Rohit but there was no slip in place and neither a third man. Six runs from the over.

Mumbai 41/2 after 6 overs: Rohit is looking in excellent touch as he crunches Krishnappa Gowtham for two cracking boundaries - one over extra cover and the second though square as Mumbai ends PowerPlay on a decent note.

Mumbai 29/2 after 5 overs: Ishan Kishan gets bat to ball with a boundary through covers and in company with his skipper is up for the rebuilding job.

Mumbai 22/2 after 4 overs: Direct hit and Suryakumar Yadav is well short of his crease. He takes on the arm of Mohammed Shami and Mumbai in early trouble. Ishan Kishan joins Rohit.

Mumbai 18/1 after 3 overs: Suryakumar Yadav gets into the act with a couple of crisp boundaries and Mumbai despite losing De Kock is up and running with skipper Rohit reaching a batting landmark .

Mumbai 8/1 after 2 overs: Rohit Sharma crossed the 5,000 run-mark in the IPL and what a batsman he is for Mumbai. Although Mohammed Shami had the Mumbai skipper trapped, Rohit went for a successful review and continues his stay in the crease.

Mumbai 0/1 after 1 over: Sheldon Cottrell begins with a bang as he castles Quinton de Kock for a duck. Wicket-maiden and a fine start for Punjab.

KL Rahul: We’re going to bowl first. It is a new strip, looks really good and should play well for 40 overs. Hopefully there is a bit of movement first up. Gowtham comes in place of M Ashwin, that’s the only change.

Rohit Sharma: We would have batted first. We played good cricket here batting first in the last game, so we just need to put up a good performance. The talk before the tournament for us was to focus on the basics of batting, bowling and fielding and our preparations were good. We back outselves to do whatever is thrown at us. We are playing the same team.
