Class is indeed permanent, and Kane Williamson proved that again with a match winning innings of 89 off just 51 balls in his first appearance for the Sunrisers Hyderabad this season. Williamson has been warming the bench so far, but came in to the team for Mohammed Nabi to strengthen the batting against a strong Delhi Daredevils bowling line-up.

Hyderabad lost captain David Warner early, and Williamson handled the pressure, and built a partnership with Shikhar Dhawan before cutting loose. He was particularly harsh on Angelo Matthews and Amit Mishra, hitting the pair for two sixes. The batsman resorted to proper cricketing shots with no slogging involved. He was unlucky to miss out on a ton, thanks to a splendid catch by Shreyas Iyer.
