Mitchell Starc becomes fastest bowler to pick 200 ODI wickets

Australia’s ace speedster Mitchell Starc on Saturday became the fastest bowler to pick 200 ODI wickets.

Starc, playing his 102nd ODI, achieved the feat when he scalped the wicket of Ryan Burl in the third ODI against Zimbabwe. The Australians who had taken an unassailable 2-0 lead, however, fell to a three-wicket defeat shortly after Starc reached the 200-wicket mark.

Starc overtook the likes of Saqlain Mushtaq (104 matches), Brett Lee (112 matches) and Allan Donald (117 matches).

He is also the fastest pacer to scalp 100 ODI wickets (52 matches), only bettered by Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan (44 matches).

Starc is sixth among all leading Australian bowlers in ODI cricket. Lee (380 wickets), Glenn McGrath (380), Shane Warne (291), Mitchell Johnson (239) and Craig McDermott (203) are ahead of him in this list.
