Tragedy struck Pakistan cricket on Monday when a first-class cricketer, Zubair Ahmed, died after being hit on the head by a bouncer.
During a game in Mardan, the batsman suffered a gush and succumbed. Media reports from Pakistan suggest that Ahmed, who has played four matches for the ListA and T20 team Quetta Bears, was hit in the head on August 14.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) too expressed grief on its Twitter account emphasising the need for a helmet at all times. The news comes a day after Australian batsman David Warner was hit off a Josh Hazlewood bouncer during an intra-squad practice match.
