Ranji Trophy: Iyer to lead Mumbai against Railways

An injured Prithvi Shaw has been left out of Mumbai's Ranji Trophy season opener against the Railways.

Shreyas Iyer has been named skipper for Mumbai's opening fixture against Railways.

Prithvi Shaw, who suffered an elbow injury during a Deodhar Trophy match on Wednesday, has been left out of Mumbai's Ranji Trophy season opener against Railways.

The Mumbai Cricket Association, on Thursday, named the 15-member squad for the fixture against Railways, scheduled at the Karnail Singh Stadium on November 1. Shreyas Iyer will lead the side, while Dhawal Kulkarni has been named his deputy.

Mumbai, which won the Vijay Hazare Trophy earlier this month, has seasoned campaigners in Siddhesh Lad, Jay Bista, Surya Kumar Yadav and Aditya Tare. The side is expected to start its final training session later this week.

Shreyas Iyer (capt), Dhawal Kulkarni, Siddhesh Lad, Jay Bista, Surya Kumar Yadav, Ashay Sardesai, Aditya Tare, Eknath Kerkar, Shivam Dube, Akash Parkar, Karsh Kothari, Shams Mulani, Akhil Herwadkar, Tushar Deshpande, Royston Dias.
