Yashasvi Jaiswal made a quickfire fifty and gave Mumbai a solid start. It was all in vain.

Hello and welcome to Sportstar's Live coverage of Vijay Hazare Trophy quarterfinal matches between Tamil Nadu and Punjab, and Chhattisgarh and Mumbai.

Both matches have been abandoned. Rain put paid to any hopes of a result. Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh go through to the semifinals.

Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh qualify as they garnered more wins in the group stage. While TN won nine out of nine matches, Chhattisgarh won five out of eight matches. Mumbai won four.

The lack of a result may be a little underwhelming, but there were some good performances today, such as Chhattisgarh captain Harpreet Bhatia's knock of 83 and team-mate Amandeep Khare's 59; Yashaswi Jaiswal's unbeaten half-century for Mumbai; and B. Aparajith's half-century for TN.

It's been a memorable tourney for Yashaswi in particular. The 17-year-old scored a century, a double century, and two half-centuries. He is the highest run-getter in the competition so far, with B. Aparajith not far behind.

The journey ends here for Yashaswi, but Aparajith can leapfrog him to the top in the semifinal.

That brings us to the end of the day's action. The four semifinalists have been determined. They are: Karnataka, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh.

Both semifinals will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, in Bengaluru. Play begins at 9 am. Join us for that. Until then, it's goodbye.
