Mohammed Rafi's strike ensured Chennaiyin FC registered a 1-0 win over Aizawl FC in a friendly football match at the SDAT-Nehru Park ground here on Sunday. The match was held behind close doors.
CFC returned to the city last week after a three week pre-season training camp at Hua Hin, Thailand. The 2015 ISL champion lost 1-2 in a three-match series to a few Thai Premier League outfits.
Actually, CFC did receive a warm welcome from fans at the airport. There were flags, garlands and custom made banners accompanied by player chants.
