East Bengal announced on Friday that former ATK assistant coach Bastab Roy will be the team’s head coach for the upcoming I-League season.
Roy said he is well aware of the expectations of the EB fans, "Being coach of East Bengal is challenging. Just because it's East Bengal, I didn't think twice," said Roy, who replaced Khalid Jamil.

“The one thing I learnt from ISL coaches (Antonio Habas, Teddy Sheringham, Jose Molina) is discipline,” he added.
Subhash Bhowmick, who does not have the requisite coaching license, will continue as the technical director.
