Chennai Test gets the go ahead

There were concerns about the game at Chepauk following the demise of the former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, J. Jayalalithaa on Monday night.

The speculation over the final Test between India and England slated to be held at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium here from December 16, seems to have been resolved and the match will now go ahead as per schedule.

The BCCI had then written to the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA), enquiring about the situation in the city and security arrangments for the teams and the venue.

Chennai last hosted a Test in February 2013, against Australia.
