Puneri Paltan and Jaipur Pink Panthers will be hoping to recover from their respective losses in their last PKL clash against Dabang Delhi.

Jaipur Pink Panthers picked up exactly from where it left at Half-Time to inflict a crushing defeat on Puneri Paltan. Deepak Hooda was the star of the match with 9 points from his 16 raids.

33-25 at FULL-TIME: What has Pankaj Mohite done? He should have gone for a full-out raid off the last attempt because three more points would have given the side one point. What a blunder!

33-22: Close to a minute remaining and this is a Do or Die raid. Surjeet and Manjeet pin Deepak Nivas Hooda to the floor. Where was this initiative all along?

32-19: The mountain has become too huge to climb for Puneri Paltan. The Panthers are investing in longer raids now, taking all the time they want.

31-19: Deepak Hooda has been taken down, for the first time today. Hadi Tajik wins two points from that Super Tackle. Hooda didn't see Tijak switch his position to take him from the back.

30-17: Pankaj Mohite off to the bench after Sandeep Dhull's firm ankle hold doesn't allow him to slip pass. The match is slipping out of Paltan's hands though, point by point.

29-17: With eight minutes remaining on the clock, a break has been taken. Nilesh Salunkhe, in his last raid, doesn't make much of an effort. Added to that, we have got some banter here guys, as he goes on to taunt the Paltan defenders.

27-16ALL OUT INFLICTED after Girish Ernak surrenders in the Do or Die raid! They would rather have the whole side out on the mat to start afresh.

21-16: DO OR DIE and a SUPER TACKLE OPPORTUNITY! And super tackle it is. Jadhav Shahaji goes for a diving ankle hold on Nitin Rawal and is ably supported by the other two defenders.

21-14: Nitin Rawal comes back, empty raid. Happy with the seven-point lead, eh?

19-12: Has Jaipur managed to rattle Nitin Tomar's nerves? He walks in to bag the bonus point. No risks taken, otheriwse.

18-11: Deepak Nivas Hooda, the poster boy, to start again. And then as easy as it goes... The mantra is "Raid. Score. Repeat." for the skipper. Scores a point and resorts to the lobbies to escape.

SECOND HALF

16-9: The plan is working out perfectly for Jaipur Pink Panthers, which is going for a two-pronged attack. The main strategy has been to send back strongman Nitin Tomar back to the bench early to easily take care of the others after that.

13-8: FIRSTALL OUT OF THE DAY INFLICTED! A chain tackle initiated by Amit Hooda takes care of Pankaj Mohite. This is scintillating stuff!

9-7: Earlier it was Girish Ernak and now it is the skipper Surjeet. A series of unsuccessful tackles gifts Nitin Rawal two points from the last two raids. Fabulous!

8-5: DO OR DIE! Sushant Sail pinned to the mat this time. And Vishal is the man again! He gets a firm hold and is soon joined by his teammates as Sail tries to break through.

5-5: Sushant Sail in for a Do-or-Die raid, the first of the match. A running hand touch was all he needed. A lack of coordination was visible among the defenders.

5-4: Sushant Sail is extremely quick on his feet, but this time, he is unable to steal the bonus point. EMPTY RAID!

5-3: What a move there by Vishal! And within five minutes, that is Tomar being sent back to the bench the second time. Vishal rushes in to throw Tomar out into the lobbies.

3-1:TWO POINTS! You do not mess with Manjeet! You really would not want to! Nitin Rawal and Sandeep Dhull go for the ankle hold but the tall raider throws himself on to the line.

1-1: And Deepak Hooda starts off with a stunner! Sends off Nitin Tomar straightaway. That is one big name less on the mat.

0-1: The talismanic Nitin Tomar to start proceedings as expected. And there... he has stolen the bonus point, right from under the watchful eyes of the Pink Panthers defenders.

Happy Independence Day, ladies and gentlemen! Both the sides, Jaipur Pink Panthers and Puneri Paltan, will be looking to stage a comeback after suffering a defeat at the hands of Dabang Delhi in their previous respective encounters.

MATCH IN NUMBERS

Jaipur Pink Panthers Form Guide

Jaipur Pink Panthers, which had otherwise started its campaign on a high note, succumbed to its first loss against Dabang Delhi on August 5. It has been quite the break for them, since that match, and it would have allowed the squad the time to think about where it went wrong. Although, Dhull has been the Panthers' MVP when it comes to defending, he failed to shine against Delhi, finishing without a single point in his kitty. Therefore, he would have a lot to prove when he walks out on to the mat today. The side's raiders have performed just fine and it would be skipper Deepak Hooda again who would have to shoulder most of the responsibilities.

Puneri Paltan Form Guide

Puneri Paltan, on the other hand, has had a dismal start this season, losing four of its six matches. Coach Anup Kumar will be looking forward to the combination of skipper Surjeet Singh and Girish Ernak. If they up the ante, it should instil confidence in the raiding unit as well which hasn't performed to its full potential yet. The side's last match also saw the return of Nitin Tomar and he didn’t disappoint with eight raid points – more than any other player in the team.
