An engrossing battle between Chennai stars Vishnu Prasad and Raghul Rangasamy, the defending champion, is on the cards in the highly-competitive Formula LGB4 class in the second round of the JK Tyre — FMSCI National racing championship at the Kari Motor Speedway circuit here this weekend.

Vishnu, the MSport driver, missed the championship by a whisker last year. This time around, he seems to be pretty clear with his plan — to attack from the start. He proved that to a great measure in the first round, going on to win two races and finish second in the other to emerge the early leader with 28 points.

Raghul, his team-mate, is an equally talented star. In the first round, he had tried hard to get the better of Vishnu, only to find him win a close contest. Raghul was nevertheless pleased having won one, and finish second and third in the other two races.

Only four points separate him from now from Vishnu at the top of the table, and he is sure to come back with a bang.

The duo will also keep an eye out for Dark Don Racing’s Ashwin Datta, who is in the third position at 17 points.

Expect a keen tussle as well between Momentum Motorsports team-mates Aaroh Ravindra and Chirag Ghorpade in the JK Tyre Novice Cup.

However, in the JK Tyre Suzuki Gixxer Cup, Syed Muzammil Ali of Bengaluru won both the races with ease to take the top spot with 20 points. Pune’s Tanay Gaikwad is expected to give him a run for his money. Satara’s Ikshan Shanbag, with two wins out of two, will hope to retain his position in the JK Tyre Redbull Road To Rookies challenge.
