Tanu Rawal of Haryana topped in women’s air pistol as she beat Asian Games medallist Shweta Singh 9.7 to 9.5 in the shoot-off after the two were tied on 194.3 in the shooting National selection trials at the Dr. Karni Singh Range, Tughlakabad on Wednesday.
Tanu had qualified in the second place on 381, one point behind Commonwealth Games silver medallist Malaika Goel. Mamta Kedia bagged the third place ahead of Anisa Sayyed, while Malaika settled for the fifth place. Shweta Devi, Shreya Gawande and Anita Devi placed sixth to eighth respectively, while top shooters Pushpanjali Rana (378), Shri NIvetha (378), Olympian Annu Raj Singh (376) failed to make the final.
In women’s rifle 3-position event, Lajja Gauswami and Tejaswini Sawant topped in two different sets of trials.
