Neel Joshi put in his best effort but the top seed Sam Todd of England was even better to carve out a 3-1 win and take the gold in the U-15 boys' section of the British Junior Open squash here on Sunday. Joshi had to be content with the silver medal.
Todd won 8-11, 16-14, 11-0, 14-12. Tidy in his returns and swift on his feet, he grabbed the first game but the local boy drew ahead from there. Still, in the fourth game, Neel looked good to level game scores, even enjoyed a game-ball and then saved a match ball but the fight ended soonafter.
Earlier, another hopeful Tushar Shahani in the U-17 category went down in the semi-final to the top seed Omar El Torkey of Egypt.
