Indian tennis ace Rohan Bopanna and his Romanian partner Florin Mergea suffered a defeat in their last match of Ashe-Smith Group to finish second with a 2-1 record at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals on Thursday.
The Italian pair of Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini took just an hour to outclass the Indo-Romanian pair 6-4, 1-6, 10-5 in their round-robin clash.
However, Bopanna and Mergea have already qualified for the semi-finals after claiming victory over the World number one Bryan brothers and fourth seeded pairing of Jamie Murray and John Peers.
