Julia Goerges breezed into the second round of the Moscow River Cup after a 6-1 6-0 demolition of Viktoria Kuzmova on Tuesday.
The top seed needed less than an hour to see off her 20-year-old opponent as Goerges maintained her fine form after a career-best run to the last four at Wimbledon.
Goerges recorded 23 winners and only five unforced errors as Kuzmova failed to even carve out a break-point opportunity during two chastening sets.
Next up for Goerges is Natalia Vikhlyantseva, who defeated Deborah Chiesa 6-4 6-0. Second seed Daria Kasatkina also came through in convincing fashion with a 6-1 6-1 success against Anna Kalinskaya, although fourth seed Katerina Siniakova went down 6-4 3-6 6-4 to Kristyna Pliskova.
At the JiangXi Open in Nanchang, top seed Zhang Shuai overcame Sabine Lisicki 7-6 (7-0) 6-3 while Magda Linette, Zheng Saisai and Sabina Sharipova were among the day's other winners.
