The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has decided not to release left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha for the forthcoming domestic season.

Ojha, who joined Bengal in 2015-16, was interested to return to his parent association and play for Hyderabad in the next season. The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) had reportedly requested the CAB to release Ojha.

However, CAB president Sourav Ganguly said Ojha would join Bengal pre-season training camp that started here on Wednesday. "Ojha wanted to be released but we have not given him (the go-ahead). Bengal signed him when Hyderabad was in Plate (group). We need his services," said Ganguly.

The CAB would inform the HCA about its decision on Thursday.
