‘Stand By’ -- a collaboration between new artist LORYN and one of the UK’s most successful and influential acts, Rudimental — will be played in ground and city events across the tournament when the showpiece event begins on May 30.

‘Stand by,’ the official song of the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup was made available for download on Friday, two weeks before the marquee tournament begins.

The song, a collaboration between breakout vocalist LORYN and drum and bass band Rudimental, will be played at ground and city events across the tournament, which ends on July 14.

The collaboration, which celebrated the cultural diversity of the United Kingdom, was announced earlier in May.

“Celebrating our diversity is a key message of the band. Obviously, we’ve all got different heritages, we’re from London – one of the most diverse cities in the world and we like to celebrate our differences. That’s our vibe,” Piers Aggett of Rudimental had said at the announcement.

“It is important to acknowledge the power of music in sporting environments – from a motivational platform for players to providing a common voice for fans to celebrate together I am sure we will see the Official Song at the absolute heart of this tournament,” Steve Elworthy, managing director of the World Cup, had said at the announcement.
