Andhra batsman Hanuma Vihari is all set to join the Indian squad for the last two Test matches in the ongoing series against England.

Vihari has been a dominant force in domestic cricket, holding a First-Class average of 59.79 – the highest among the current players.

The batsman received a call from the selectors on Wednesday, while preparing for the Quadrangular Series for India A.

"I got a call this morning, when I was gearing up for the one-dayers for India A."

"I feel surreal. This is the moment I have been waiting for. My plan is to go there and express myself, but at the same time, not put too much pressure on myself," Vihari told Sportstar on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old — who smashed 752 runs in Ranji Trophy 2017-18 — had tasted success for India A in the tour of England in June-July.

He scored 410 runs, which included a hundred against West Indies A. It perhaps escalated his case in the selectors’ meeting that was held in Nottingham on Wednesday.

Vihari is likely to leave for England on Thursday as the fourth Test begins on August 30 at The Rose Bowl in Southampton.
