After starting its Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign on a losing note, Rajasthan Royals suffered another blow on Tuesday, as its Sri Lankan pacer Dushmantha Chameera was ruled out for at least three weeks.
Bought at his base price of Rs 50 lakh, Chameera did not join the Royals camp due to a stiff back. While there is no confirmation on whether the Sri Lankan will at all be available for the remaining fixtures of the IPL, Sportstar understands that the chances are quite less.

It is believed that the pacer picked up the injury while playing the first round of Super Fours Provincial tournament. The Sri Lankan Board, it is learned, is closely monitoring the situation.
With Ben Laughlin, Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes around, Chameera’s unavailability may not be a big issue for the Royals. But this injury could have bigger implications for the bowler individually, who might miss out on the West Indies tour if the situation does not improve.
